Crystal Lake is a city located in southeastern McHenry County in northeastern Illinois. It is named after Crystal Lake, a lake located 1.6 miles west-southwest of downtown Crystal Lake. Crystal Lake is about 50 miles northwest of Chicago. The population as of 2009 is at 42,142. Crystal Lake is the largest city in McHenry County, part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Because many adults work out of town, notably in Chicago, social life in Crystal Lake is determined largely by whom people's children go to school with, and who lives nearby.
The Raue Center for the Arts, in the downtown district, has distinguished itself as a regional and national tourism draw. The National Piano Conference has been held in the Raue Center since 2012.
The Crystal Lake Park District offers more than 40 parks (totaling over 2,000 acres) and recreation areas to relax and play. The 140 acre Veteran Acres Park offers a Nature Center, Rotary Building and Rotary Warming House. The park also has outdoor athletic fields and recreational areas including restrooms, picnic shelters, a playground, two lighted tennis courts, a basketball court, a horseshoe pit, a softball field, and a baseball field. Lippold Park, the largest single park in the district at 305 acres, is an active use area consisting of: 12 baseball/softball fields (six lighted), 3 full-sized and lighted football fields, 16 soccer fields, a disc golf course, a dog park, 2 sand volleyball courts, a lacrosse field, a Family Golf Center consisting of 60 lighted driving range tee stations, a 10,000 square foot putting green and two lighted mini golf courses.
Your first task, before investing any time or money, should be to determine the primary reason you want to be on the Internet and to identify the audience you want to reach.
Developing an effective website requires thoughtful planning. Understanding the entire process before you begin will save you time and money as the project progresses. There are six basic stages: planning, content development, graphic design, programming, marketing, and maintenance. Depending on your areas of expertise, you may need assistance for some or all phases of your project. We have a questionnaire to help you understand this process.

Having a website requires a lot of time, but creating it is only half the battle. Once you've actually put the site online, the real challenge lies in maintaining and updating it. Keeping your site fresh encourages people to return. Poor maintenance is a sure way of losing visitors, perhaps permanently. We offer custom maintenance programs including email monitoring, newsletter & email lists, updating text (i.e. announcements, articles, etc.), replacing images (i.e. pictures & graphics), adding/removing pages, general site submission/re-submission to over 400 search engines.
