Prices range from $25.00 for a minor repair to $75.00 and up for an extensive restoration. A quote will be given before any work begins. General Services include:

$25.00 - A few scratches and/or marks, minor color or contrast adjustment needed, the photo is in focus, faded areas needing adjustments, no missing pieces or significant damage. Sample photo illustrates Fading: Slight fading has occurred. Color Correction: Moderate color imbalance. Flaws/Marks: Very few on secondary areas of the image. Missing Parts: N/A.

Medium Repair

$35.00 - Numerous scratches and/or marks, prominent color or contrast adjustment needed, focus adjustment required, faded areas, no missing pieces or major damage. Sample photo illustrates Fading: Significant and uneven fading. Color Correction: Heavy color imbalance. Flaws/Marks: Photo quality is degraded. Missing Parts: N/A.

$55.00 - Numerous scratches and/or marks, prominent color or contrast adjustment, focus adjustment, faded areas, minor missing pieces, or damage. Sample photo illustrates Fading: Significant and uneven fading. Color Correction: Heavy color imbalance. Flaws/Marks: Minimal flaws. Missing Parts: Minimal tears. Custom Additions: Background enhancement.

Extreme Repair

$75.00 and up - Extensive damage over most of the image, especially in the primary area of the photo; the image is torn into separate pieces, or pieces are missing. Sample photo illustrates Fading: Significant and uneven fading. Color Correction: Heavy color imbalance. Flaws/Marks: Extensive flaws. Missing Parts: Extensive tears and missing parts in the primary area of the photo. Custom Additions: Background enhancement.

Restorations Ordering

All orders will be completed within ten working days from the date your order is received. Payment must accompany each order. We accept checks and money orders. Before work begins on a restoration project, you will be given a quote for the job and services you request on the order form. You can request that you receive the quote via mail or e-mail on the order form. Selections can be made from either a good photocopy or a low-resolution (150 dpi) image scan.

The photo restoration process requires several steps. They are digital scanning, computer-assisted restoration, and printing. Your original photo is not harmed or changed in any way. All of the restoration work is applied to a digital copy.

Some common techniques used in photo restoration include color correction, contrast adjustments, removing scratches and dust, repairing tears and creases, and rebuilding missing sections of the image.

When restoring photos, it's important to work carefully and methodically, as over-editing or improper techniques can damage the original image. It's also important to keep backups of the original photograph and any restored versions to ensure that the image is not lost or damaged in the restoration process.

Scanning and Evaluation Process

Once we receive your original photo, we will evaluate the damage and plan the restoration process. Next, your image is scanned with a professional flatbed scanner, producing a computer file into our computer.

Once the photograph is scanned, it is assessed to determine the type and extent of the damage. This helps to determine the techniques that will be used to restore the photograph. We then adjust the exposure, contrast, and brightness levels to obtain the best image. Now we are ready to begin the actual restoration process.

Restoration

We start by removing the blemishes, spots, and stains. Next, we skillfully remove the cracks, rips, and tears, then blend these areas to match the surrounding parts of the photo. If parts of the picture are missing, we will use the surrounding picture area to create the missing parts.

Once the restoration is complete, the photograph is edited to further enhance its appearance. This can include adjusting brightness and contrast, sharpening the image, and removing any remaining imperfections. Once we are satisfied that the restoration work is complete, we make a print to check our work further.

Printing

The final step in the restoration process is to save the restored image in a high-quality format for printing or digital use. The original photograph and any restored versions should be stored in a safe place to ensure their preservation. From this digital file, actual photographic prints of your restored photo can be made, placed on a CD, or even attached as an email file.

Your Restored Photos

Your original photo and the restored print(s) or photographic disk(s) are carefully packaged and returned to you via mail or express shipping. The process takes about ten business days, so allow enough time if you have a special occasion or holiday for which you want to have the photo(s).
